An awareness programme to educate troops serving the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-Cen), on ‘Cyber Crimes and Security’ was conducted on Wednesday (28), following an initiative, suggested by the Commander, Security Forces - Cen on the directions of the Commander of the Army.
Topics such as ‘Rational use of Internet’, ‘Social Media’, ‘Malicious reports and Antisocial Acts’, ‘Use of smart phones and mobile phones’, Using of social media were taken up for discussion during the workshop, attended by more than 165 military personnel.
Major T.D.T Wijesinghe of the 12 Sri Lanka Signal Corps in his lecture to the occasion focused on preventive actions, needed to be taken to protect soldiers from cyber-crimes.
