A stock of vegetable seeds, made available to the Army by the Ministry of Mahaweli, Agriculture, Irrigation and Rural Development were distributed among all formations under the Security Force HQ-Central.
Major General Keerthi Costa, Commander, SF-Central symbolically distributed those vegetable seeds among representatives of under command establishments under the SFHQ-C on Thursday (30 April).
These seeds have been issued in keeping with the policy statement of HE the President, Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour’ (Saubhagyaye Dekma) in which self sufficiency in foods has been highlighted and home gardening encouraged.
