Central Commander Makes First Visit to 12 Division

Major General Samantha Silva, Commander, Security Forces - Central after assumption of his new office made his first formal visit to the 12 Division Headquarters in Hambantota during 27 - 28 October 2021.

General Officer Commanding, 12 Division, Major General Prasanna Ranawaka extended a warm welcome to the visiting Central Commander after the visitor was greeted in a Guard Turnout in accordance with military traditions. During his stay, he was invited to plant a sapling inside the 12 Division HQ premises and address the troops as a formality.

The General Officer Commanding submitted a presentation on the role and tasks of the 12 Division before he was invited to join refreshments with all ranks. Prior to his departure, the visiting Central Commander left his compliments in the Visitors’ Book and wished all of them good luck with their duties in future.

Meanwhile, the Commander, SF-Central with the view to receiving blessings called at the sacred Katharagama Kirivehera and Dewala precincts on 26 Oct 2021. Major General Prasanna Ranawaka, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division was also present during the visit.
