A stock of dry ration packs, jointly donated by Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, former President Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) and General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff was distributed among 25 families, resident in the Central Camp area in Ampara.
The troops of 16 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) arranged the programme in consultation with respective Grama Seva officials with the coordination of the 24 Division. It took place on 13 June 2022 at the Vocational Training Center in Central Camp, Ampara.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 24 Division, Major General Saliya Amunugama closely supervised the project. The GOC of the 24 Division together with Brigadier Chandra Abeykoon, Commander, 241 Brigade, Civil Affairs Officer and several Officers attended the distribution.
