CDS Makes His First Formal Visit to SFHQ-KLN

Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) paid a courtesy call to the Security Force Headqarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Friday (4) upon his assumption of office as the Chief of Defence Staff. 

Major General Amal Karunasekara, Commander, SFHQ-KLN warmly welcomed the visiting CDS at the Iranamdu helipad by awarding a Honour Guard to CDS according to military traditions.

At the helipad he was accorded a Guard of Honour by troops of 7th Sri Lanka Light Infantry (7SLLI). 
 
Afterwards the Kilinochchi Commander at the SFHQ-KLN premises conducted a comprehensive briefing in relation to the current situation in Kilinochchi area. 

Navy and Air Force officers serving under the SFHQ-KLN also briefed the visiting CDS on their roles and tasks in their respective areas. 

As the second leg of the day’s itinerary, he visited the Harmony Centre at Kilinochchi where he received an informative presentation on welfare activities and educational programmes which are being conducted by the Harmony Centre. 

Finally, CDS left his memories by signing of Visitors’ Book and Commander, SFHQ - KLN presented him a symbolic memento as a token of memory of his visit to the SFHQ-KLN.

Senior officers, officers and other rankers of the tri-services were present at the SFHQ-KLN.
