CAVT Launches 5th Phase for Distribution of Eye Spectacles

The 5th phase of the distribution of free spectacles for poor civilians, organized by the Centre for Army Vocational Training (CAVT) at Saliyawewa got underway on Tuesday (27) at Mahamaya Women’s Community Hall, Horiwila.

Following the coordination done by the CAVT Commandant, Brigadier Randula Hathnagoda and Dr Nimal Weerakoon of Kandy Opticals (Pvt) Ltd, together with a team of medical staff, the mobile clinic to this effect was held where a total of 166 pairs of spectacles were distributed free of charge among under-privileged people suffering from vision impairments.

This was the 5th phase of the CAVT project for distribution of eye-spectacles.

Commandant CAVT, several Army Officers and officials of the donor, Kandy Opticals (Pvt) Ltd, attended the brief event for distribution of spectacles.
