Under the guidance of General Officer Commanding (GOC), 56 Infantry Division, Major General S. Kasthurimudali RSP ndc psc, the troops of 56 Infantry Division and the troops of 562 Infantry Brigade organized a Canoeing Competition on 24 July 2024 at Peyadikulam Wewa, Kokeliya.
GOC of 56 Infantry Division, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Following the game the participants engaged in the competition across three categories as single, double, triple sculler events.
The winners were awarded trophies and cash incentives by the Chief Guest.
The event’s success was significantly marked with the collaboration with the 'Rambawetti Nanneer' local fishing society, which provided essential boats and oars, ensuring a smooth and well-executed competition.
The occasion was well-attended by Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, and civilians.
