Canadians Unmask Bob Rae's Woes – Readers Write

PAST REPORTS that speak of Canadian Liberal MP Bob Rae’s relations with Tamil Tiger terrorists sum up to what extent he had been collaborating with the enemy in the past few years, writes a reader in Canada.

Talking to ‘Toronto Star’ newspaper in Canada on 04th February 2009 he had reportedly said that tens of thousands of people were killed and towns and villages were destroyed in Sri Lankan civil war after the military offensives started. He had further told United Nations could not however agree to the Sri Lankan government’s stand on the issue saying that it was an internal problem. He had also commented saying that Secretary of Defence, Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Army Commander General Sarath Fonseka have been responsible for genocide in the same report. He also has demanded UN to intervene and stop deliberate attempts on the part of Armed Forces who were trying to erase    any evidence of such crimes.

A Non Governmental Organization (NGO), called “Forum of Federation” founded by Bob Rae, has been trying to interfere in internal conflicts of other countries including Sri Lanka by way of conflict resolutions and peace building.   His Canadian Liberal Party continued to allow terrorists and their proxies to collect funds for LTTE coffers, amounting to some millions of dollars in Canada.

He had visited Sri Lanka in 2004 in the company of Professor David Camaran of Toronto University and has had closed door discussions with Thamilselvam in KILINOCHCHI when the ceasefire was in force.    Following their discussions with Tiger leaders, they demanded a separate administrative system for North and East till a final solution is reached during a conference in a hotel in WADDUWA.

Is not this statement a threat to the National Security of Sri Lanka?

Why should Canada apply double standards when it applies to Sri Lanka?   In 2006, the Canadian government did not allow British MP George Galloway to enter Canada on the basis of security concerns because of his connection to the Hamas terrorist group and his criticism on American war against Iraq. But the Canadian government opposed Sri Lanka for not allowing Bob Rae to enter the country. Canadian parliamentary records confirm how he voiced in support of Tiger terrorists. How come? Not only that earlier this month Rae in the Commons urged Canada to push for a probe into an estimated 20,000 civilian deaths after the country ended its civil war.

Doesn’t his effort of accusing Sri Lankan military leadership on war crimes amount to a threat to national security?

We are really bewildered by the Canadian Foreign Affairs press release on the Canadian Government being upset that the Opposition Member of Parliament Bob Rae was deported by Sri Lanka for security reasons. Why can’t Canada accept the fact that Bob Rae was coming to Sri Lanka to mess around with Sri Lanka’s domestic issues? Sri Lanka is a sovereign nation and is not interested in idiots coming to disturb the peace it has achieved painstakingly after long sufferings at the hands of the LTTE.

Let Sri Lanka solve its problems on her own. She showed that she can do it without the support of the west… pardon me… rather, amidst the many roadblocks created by the west against eliminating the world’s most ruthless terrorist outfit ever to exist. What was Bob Rae’s intention in coming to Sri Lanka at this time?

What did the Canadian Government do in March 2009 (not long ago) to a British MP? The British MP George Galloway was barred from entering Canada for security reasons. Here is an excerpt from Toronto Star dated 20 March 2009:

"British MP George Galloway, seen during a 2006 visit to Toronto, has been denied entry to Canada by the Canadian Border Services Agency. Galloway has been an outspoken opponent of the war in Iraq and has been criticised for alleged support of Hamas and Saddam Hussein.

Alykhan Velshi, a spokesperson for Immigration Minister Jason Kenney, said today Galloway has openly supported Hamas, classified as a terrorist group in Canada, as well as other terrorists.

"What we are not going to do is give special treatment to someone who has bragged about providing ‘financial support’ for Hamas … and who sympathised with the Taliban terrorists who are killing Canadians overseas," Velshi said.

So, it’s all right for Canada to take such an action as to bar an MP from Britain because the MP concerned was supporting Hamas and sympathized with the Taliban terrorists who are killing Canadians overseas. He is a security threat to Canada.

Bob Rae has been openly supporting the LTTE terrorist sympathizers in Toronto. He is now denying it. Check out his Blogs and speeches published in Hansard. He’s been elected by the block votes of these LTTE sympathizers in Toronto. This is no secret to Canadians. Further, he represents the Liberal Party which is the party that helped the LTTE by letting them collect millions of dollars in Canada to fund its terrorist activities in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka has the same freedom to deny entry to anyone who supports the LTTE terrorists by association with LTTE sympathizers. Bob Rae is a security threat to Sri Lanka. It’s so simple.

What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander, isn’t it?

Canada should STOP this nonsense of bullying Sri Lanka. Western powers, who are still fighting terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq, should "ENVY" Sri Lanka, the small island nation, over its recent success against terrorism. Preach what you practise in Canada.
