An expensive Resmed Stellar 100 Non-Invasive Ventilator, which offers a comprehensive range of therapy modes for patients with changing respiratory needs, worth about Rs 1.24 m was donated to the Colombo Army Hospital COVID -19 treatment unit on Thursday (26) by Dr Chithraleka Abeysinghe, her family members, relatives, friends and her patients, based in Ontario, Canada.
The donation of the ventilator, a vital equipment in the treatment of COVID-19 patients was organized and coordinated by Brigadier Geethika Jayaweera, Consultant Pathologist at the Army Hospital.
Colonel S. Dodangoda, Deputy Director, Colombo Army Hospital and Colonel Champika Abeysinghe, Consultant Anesthetist Army Hospital received the donation.
