A consignment of medical supplies, including colostomy bags and bases, clinical powder containers and sprayers, etc, worth more than Rs 3 lakhs was gifted to the Colombo Army Hospital by Toronto-based Dr Imindu Liyanage through Dr (Mrs) Shirly Illukkumbura Wijesinghe on Tuesday (24 Oct).
The symbolic gesture was made on account of the 30th birthday of Dr Imindu Liyanage through the coordination of Mr Sisira Wijesinghe, Army Media Consultant at the Army Headquarters.
Director, Colombo Army Hospital, Brigadier R.M.J.B Rathnayake RSP, together with Deputy Director, Colonel B.A.P Liyanage RWP RSP USP, and a few Senior Officers were there to receive the stock.
Mrs Kusum Adikari, Dr (Mrs) Shirly Illukkumbura Wijesinghe, and Mr Sisira Wijesinghe were associated with the formal handover.
