Buttala OCDC Seminar Live Telecasts On


The two-day long workshop on ‘Role of Military in the Context of Socio-economic Influences’ at the Buttala Officer Career Development Centre (OCDC) commenced on Sunday (24).  (See Live Webcast Icon in Home Page

Major General A.M Perera, Commander, Army Training Command as the Chief Guest attended the inaugural session at the invitation of Brigadier N. Wanniarachchi, Commandant, OCDC.

Sessions in the first day were covered by resource personnel, like Messrs Dr M. Ganeshmoorthy, Senior Lecturer,The Department of Economics, University of Colombo, Shiral Lakthilake, Coordinating Secretary to the President of Republic of Sri Lanka, Asantha Seneviratne, International Relations Division, Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS) and Alan David, Former Deputy Solicitor General in Sri Lanka.

The OCDC, established as an academic forum to promote the professional knowledge of tri-service officers and the Police, has been instrumental in organizing seminars of this nature in the past few years since its founding.

Meanwhile, the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), made arrangements to screen live proceedings of the workshop sessions at Buttala. All officers serving the SFHQ-KLN are gathering at the SFHQ-KLN auditorium for viewing the sessions.
