Buttala AWC with Sponsors Supports Students in 3 Moneragala Schools

The Army War College (AWC) at Buttala with funds made available by Old Boys’ Association of Royal College, Colombo and Old Scholars’ Association at Sri Jayawardenapura University gave away 238 packs of school stationeries, each worth Rs.3500.00 to students in three Moneragala-based three schools on 14 March 2023. The ‘Atha-Hitha 2023’ foundation coordinated the funds of those organizations in collaboration with the Commandant and staff at the AWC.

‘Atha-Hitha 2023’ project, headed by the active donor, Mr Prasad Lokubalasuriya accordingly donated 121 stationery packs among students schooling at Gonagan Ara Kanishta Vidyalaya in Moneragala, 79 stationery packs among students at Janashanka Model School at Mahagoda Yaya in Moneragala and a stock of 38 packs among students at Therela Kanishta Vidyalaya, Moneragala.

Brigadier Manada Yahampath, Commandant, Army War College graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and distributed books and stationeries among students. Deputy Commandant, Army War College, Brigadier Saman Senarathna also took part in the donation ceremony. Senior Officers, Directing Staff, instructors, and student officers at the AWC joined the distribution ceremonies.
