Bushfire Brought Under Control

One Officer and 25 Other Rankers of the Gemunu Watch serving the 121 Brigade Headquarters at Kumbukkana, Moneragala rushed to Medagama, Kahatiyanwala area and extinguished a fast spreading bushfire in the mountainous range, close to a line of civilian houses on Monday (27) evening.

On the guidelines given by the General Officer Commanding, 12 Division, Brigadier Chandana Somaweera, Commander, 121 Brigade directed his troops to the affected area after information to that effect was received.
