Budding Radio Broadcasters in ‘Kandurata FM’ Interact with Army Media Directorate

A group of novices who are under training for presentation of Radio programmes in the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation’s (SLBC) ‘Kandurata FM’ service in Kandy had the privilege of visiting the Army Headquarters to meet a section of the Officers working in the Army Directorate of Media on Friday (22 Sep).

In response to a request made by the ‘Pipena Kekulu’ Radio programme producer, Mr. Prince Herath to the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Director Media cum Army Spokesman, Brigadier I.H.M.R.K Herath USP ndc psc, facilitated their arrival at the Army Headquarters with the coordination of several Officers in the Directorate of Media.

At first, the group of 29 youngsters, led by the broadcaster, Mr. Prince Herath, teachers of several Kandy-based schools and parents was received by the Director Media, Brigadier I.H.M.R.K Herath USP ndc psc, on arrival at the Directorate of Media premises before the group was presented with an overall picture of the functional aspects of the Directorate.

During subsequent interactions, Brigadier I.H.M.R.K Herath clarified queries, raised by the visitors and responded to their inquiries while providing answers to their curiosities. The group afterwards had a close look at different sections in operation at the Directorate of Media in the company of respective Officers in charge.

Towards the end of the familiarization visit, Brigadier I.H.M.R.K Herath presented a memento to the group leader, Mr. Prince Herath. The gesture was reciprocated after a brief thanking note, delivered by Mr. Prince Herath and a few participants who spoke in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages. The group also sat for several photographs as memories of the day.
