A group of students undergoing training at Colombo’s College of Journalism met Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna (SF-J) Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe at the Civil Affairs and Public Relations Office Tuesday (27) morning.
Sixty students including two from Maldives and ten instructors, headed by its Director Ms. Anuradha Herath arrived in Jaffna on Monday (26) on a three-day study tour as a part of their one-year training course.
Commander SF-J gave a detailed account on the present security situation in Jaffna, involvement of the Army in current development and welfare activities of the government being conducted by the Army for Jaffna civilians.
They were scheduled to visit some other places of interest in Jaffna during their stay.
