A team of envoys of the High Commission of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Colombo as well as a United States Indo-Pacific Command (PACOM) Augmentation Team of the US Embassy on Thursday (24) met Major General Dharshana Hettiarrachchi, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna (SF-J) at the Security Force Headquarters in Palaly, Jaffna respectively.
Mr Fergus Auld, Head of the South Asia Department and India Coordinator led the visit along with the First Secretary, Mr Paul Green and the Political Officer Ms Jovitha Arulanantham of the High Commission.
They discussed several matters of significance in relation to notions of reconciliation process in the Jaffna peninsula during the meet.
Meanwhile, the PACOM Augmentation Team of the US Embassy in Colombo paid a courtesy call on Major General Dharshana Hettiarachchi, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna on Thursday (24) at the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J).
Captain Armando Peralta, Captain Terry Johnson, Senior Staff Sergeant Alexis O’Farrell and Senior Staff Sergeant George Richards serving the Pacific Command of the United States Army were included in the delegation. They discussed matters, pertaining to the conduct of combined training sessions on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Operations.
