A high level delegation of the Colombo-based British High Commission, headed by Mr. Stephen Evans, British High Commissioner, during a two - day visit to Jaffna peninsula, met Commander, Security Forces Jaffna, Major General M. D. S Chandrapala in his office on 11 March 2004.
Major General Chandrapala briefed the delegation on the current security situation in the north vis-a- vis matters related to the ceasefire agreement and humanitarian and welfare roles carried out by the Security Forces in the peninsula.
Associated with the occasion were Mr. Stephen Evans, British High Commissioner, Lt. Col. Mark Weldon, Defence Attache, Messrs Steve Ainsworth, N. Swarnarajah and Ms Karu Graewal.
