Brigadier H.T.W Vidyananda RWP RSP USP of the Gajaba Regiment (GR) during a brief ceremony assumed office on Tuesday (7) as the new Director, Directorate of Personnel Administration (DPA) at the Army Headquarters.
Brigadier H.T.W Vidyananda RWP RSP USP at first performed own religious observances and left his signature in an official document, signifying the acceptance of his new office as members of the Maha Sangha, headed by Ven (Dr) Aluthnuwara Anuruddha Nayake Thera, Incumbent, Kotte Raja Maha Viharaya began chanting ‘Seth Pirith’ to bless the new office. Offer of ‘Atapirikara’ followed a brief ‘Anushasana’ (oration) made by the Nayake Thera.
Senior Officers, Staff Officers in the Directorate and Other Ranks were associated with the simple inaugural ceremony. Officers and Other Ranks at the Directorate afterwards posed for several group photos adding memories to the occasion.
Brigadier H.T.W Vidyananda RWP RSP USP before assumption of office as Director, DPA held the appointment of Centre Commandant at the Gajaba Regimental Headquarters.
He succeeds Brigadier K.A.U Kodituwakku RSP USP psc IG who has now been appointed as the Deputy General Officer Commanding of the 12 Infantry Division.
