Brig Upali Gunasekera Takes Office as 62 Division's GOC

Brigadier Upali Gunasekera assumed duties as the 10th General Officer Commanding (GOC) at the 62 Infantry Division amidst religious blessings and military formalities at 62 Division HQ on Thursday (01).

The newly-appointed GOC of 62 Infantry Division was warmly welcomed by all Brigade Commanders and division Staff Officers and honored in the Guard Turnout, presented by troops of 11th Battalion the Gemunu Watch.

Afterwards, he was invited to plant a sapling as a gesture of memory. Later on, he placed his signature in the first official document to mark his assumption of duties, amidst chanting of Seth Pirith in the presence of senior officers.

Later he addressed all ranks of the Division staff and spoke his mind out, followed by an all rank tea. Division Officers and Other Ranks were present during the address. affiliate tracking url | Nike
