Brigadier Tikiri Dissanayake on Tuesday (09) assumed duties as the 12th General Officer Commanding of the 65 Division under the Security Force HQ - Killinochchi, amidst religious blessings and military formalities at the 65 Division HQ in Thunukkai.
The newly-appointed General Officer Commanding of the 65 Division on arrival at the premises was warmly welcomed by the Staff Officers of the Division Headquarters before he was honoured in a Guard Turnout and a colorful parade, presented by 65 Division troops.
Later on, Brigadier Tikiri Dissanayake in his office placed his signature for an official document to mark his assumption of office, amidst chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ in the presence of Senior Officers. He afterwards planted a sapling in the compound as a symbol of memory and followed up with an all rank tea treat before he familiarized with the premises.
