Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) recently distributed more than five hundred dry ration packs, each worth of Rs.2000/= among villagers in drought-hit Bogaswewa and Veherathenna villages on account of the forthcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
Following a notion, proposed by Major General Boniface Perera, the project also gave away special packs of school stationery, consisted of school bags, books and T-shirts.
Chief Incumbent at Kelaniya Manelwaththa Viharaya and the Chief Sanghanayake of Taiwan Ven. Dr. Bodagama Chandima Thero sponsored the gift packets for civilians and the school children.
Major General Boniface Perera spoke to the villagers and gifted them with those dry ration packets which contained rice, dhal, sugar, flour, coconut oil, etc.
The event was coordinated by Ven Mamaduwe Pannasekara Thero, incumbent at Anuradhapura Naga Viharaya.
