Batticaloa Troops Coordinate Free Supply of Technical Accessories to Hospital

A stock of technical accessories, much-needed for smooth operation of the Batticaloa Teaching Hospital were recently gifted to Director, Batticaloa Teaching Hospital, Dr Kalaranjani Ganeshalingam after inviting him to the Batticaloa Bishop House compound.

The 231 Brigade HQ, commanded by Brigadier Vijitha Hettiarachchi, coordinated the donation of those technical appliances such as computers, printers, power suppliers, smart phones, washing machine, etc, required for the operational aspect of the hospital. The sponsorship, extended by the Engineers' Charity Fund Australia was coordinated by the Army.

Bishop of Batticaloa, Rev Joseph Ponnaiah, Mr Wasantha Raja, an Official of the Red Cross and a few Members of the Batticaloa Civil Society were present at the time of the formal handover of those accessories.
