The Batticaloa District Coordinating Committee on Prevention of COVID-19 pandemic assembled at the District Secretariat Batticaloa on Wednesday (05) presided by the District Secretary for Batticaloa Mr K. Karunaharan. Additional District Secretary, Mayor of Batticaloa, Major General Nalin Koswatte, General Officer Commanding 23 Division, Colonel Vijitha Hettiarachchi, Commander 231 Brigade and a few others also took part in the conference.
During the conference, the stakeholders shared their views with Major General Nalin Koswatte regarding further measures to be taken in Batticaloa district to curb the sudden spread of the pandemic and also discussed improvements to existing mechanism in close collaboration with Security Forces, government and health authorities.
