Basic Swimming Course No. 21 Concludes Successfully

The Basic Swimming Course No. 21, held from 02 August 2024 to 09 September 2024, concluded successfully at the Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) swimming pool in Anuradhapura on 09 September 2024.

The course, which aimed to enhance the swimming and lifesaving skills of military personnel, saw the participation of 36 Other Ranks from various battalions under the Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni).

During the concluding ceremony, these participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their achievements.

Major General W.M.S.C.K Wanasinghe RSP USP, the General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, congratulating the soldiers for their dedication and hard work.

S/166924 Gunner D.G.M.S Ariyawansha of the 11th Sri Lanka Artillery was recognized as the Best Student of the course for his outstanding performance.

A significant highlight of this course was the introduction of Water Safety and CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) training, a first in the programme's history. The participants received special certifications from Sri Lanka Lifesaving, marking an important milestone in their comprehensive training.
