Bangladesh DSCSC Undergrads Call on Chief of Staff

A 29-member delegation of the Bangladesh Defence Services and Staff College (DSCSC), together with Commodore Md. Shafiul Bari, Defence Adviser, High Commission of Bangladesh in Sri Lanka, currently on a week-long familiarization tour in Sri Lanka, called at the Army Headquarters in Sri Jayawardenepura on Tuesday (19 Sep).

The DSCSC delegation, headed by Captain Abdul Bashar Mohommad Faisal Haider Chawdhury, Senior Instructor at DSCSC, Bangladesh was warmly welcomed by Brigadier P.K.S Nandana RSP USP psc, Director, Directorate of Training at the entrance and was accompanied to the office of the Chief of Staff.

Afterwards, the Head of the delegation and several members in the company of Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Director General General Staff (DGGS), Sri Lanka Army and the Defence Adviser, High Commission of Bangladesh in Sri Lanka, met Major General W.A.S.S Wanasinghe RSP VSV USP ndu, Chief of Staff, Sri Lanka Army at his office.

During cordial interactions, both parties exchanged views on bilateral training matters in respective services in both countries and shared views on entry of new academic additions to training modules, etc.

Towards the end of the cordial meeting, Major General W.A.S.S Wanasinghe RSP VSV USP ndu symbolized the goodwill of the Sri Lanka Army by awarding a memento to Captain Abdul Bashar Mohommad Faisal Haider Chawdhury. The gesture was reciprocated.

After a while, the delegates attentively listened to a comprehensive briefing conducted by Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc regarding the ‘Humanitarian Operation of Sri Lanka’ after Colonel D.D.G.A Jayawardena USP psc, Colonel Training of the Directorate of Training briefed the audience on the topic ‘Sri Lanka Army’.

Soon after, a question and answer session got underway before Head of the Delegation presented special tokens of appreciation to the DGGS, Director, Directorate of Training, Brigadier P.C.L Gunewardena RWP RSP psc, Director, Directorate of Research Concept and Doctrine and Lieutenant Colonel A.H.M.T Gunarathne RSP psc.

Prior to their departure, they posed for a few group photographs together with all Senior Officers. Senior Officers and Officers also took part in the day’s programme.
