Bangladesh Army Officers Learn Wanni Battles &;amp; Resettlement

THE MILITARY delegation from People’s Republic of Bangladesh, now in Sri Lanka visited Vavuniya during the weekend and met   Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni as part of their familiarization programme in Sri Lanka.   

The Bangladeshi delegation, aimed at further promoting bilateral relations and the bondage between the two friendly Armies, began their tour after meeting Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army at the Army Headquarters, earlier in the week.

The visiting two Majors General Mohammed Ehtesham Ul Haque and A.K.M. Zafrullah Siddiq in the company of several more officers received a brief account from the Wanni Commander, Major General Kamal Gunarathne who is also the Competent Authority for displaced people in the north. Exchange of views centered largely on Wanni battlefield experiences and ongoing resettlement of the displaced in Wanni. 

Lieutenant Colonel C.S Munasinghe General Staff Officer-I (operations) was also associated in the discussions.

The Bangladesh Army delegation is expected to visit Diyatalawa Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA), Security Forces Headquarters in Jaffna and Mullaittivu and during their stay in Sri Lanka.     
 
Major General Mohammed Ehtesham Ul Haque, Major General A.K.M. Zafrullah Siddiq, Brigadier General Ridwan-Al-Mahmood, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Asadullah Minhazul Alam, Lieutenant Colonel, M. Taufiqul Hasan Siddique, Major A.S.M. Bahauddin, Major M.D. Nazrul Islam Khan and Major M. Shakhawat Hossain Chowdhury are in the group.
