Badulla Students Take Lead in Wilpattu Reforestation, Now

Giving another push to the Army project ‘Thuruliya Wenuwen Api’ and the reforestation programme at Wilpattu National Park conceptualized by the Commander of Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, troops under the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) under the direction of the Commander, SF-Wanni, Major General Kumudu Perera launched another mega tree planting drive at Sinath Nagar area on Thursday (20).

This time, the Environmental Association of Vishaka College in Badulla came forward to assist the project donating 2000 saplings to plant along boundaries in conserved areas of the Wilpattu National Park, Villaththaikulam and Veppal forest areas.

The mega event was organized by the Commander, 542 Brigade, Colonel Ravi Herath under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding, 54 Division, Major General Senarath Bandara.
