Brigadier T.C.M.G.S.T Cooray RWP RSP USP ndc psc assumed duties as the Commandant of the Army War College (AWC), Buttala, on 15 December 2024, during a brief ceremony.
The new Commandant was accorded a Guard Turnout upon his arrival and was warmly received by the Deputy Commandant and other Senior Officers. Amidst religious blessings, the newly appointed Commandant symbolically placed his signature on an official document to signify the acceptance of his new office.
After assuming duties, the Commandant planted a sapling on the college premises and posed for a group photograph, followed by the troops' address. The brief ceremony culminated with an All-Ranks tea. Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the event.
