Brigadier U.K.D.D.P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc of the Gajaba Regiment assumed duties as the new Commandant of the Army War College (AWC), Buttala on 5th June 2023 during a brief ceremony.
The new Commandant was accorded a Guard Turnout on his arrival and was warmly received by the Deputy Commandant with other Senior Officers. Subsequently, the formalities began with symbolically signing a document at the auspicious minute to signify the acceptance of his new office amidst religious observances.
Soon after that, the incoming Commandant planted a sapling inside the college premises and posed for a group photograph with all the officers and other ranks serving in the AWC.
Subsequently, he addressed the officers at the Defence Studies Branch, the Permanent Staff and other ranks respectively at the main auditorium.
The brief ceremony culminated with an All Rank tea.
