The General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, Major General Channa Weerasooriya chaired an awareness programme in Kuchchiweli area, followed by a discussion with religious leaders, community leaders and professionals of the Muslim community in order to educate them on the importance of security, social responsibilities and co-existence in the area.
The recent forum was organized by the 221 Infantry Brigade at Kuchchaweli Cultural Hall where the Commander of 221 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Priyantha Kariyawasam, Commanding Officer of 6 VIR, Major D.K.D Withanage, 48 attendees including Muslim Mawulavis, Chairmen and Secretaries of Islamic Mosques and the Chairman of Fishing Society - Kuchchaweli DS Division attended the sessions.
