About 600 students from Udayarkattu Maha Vidyalaya and Puthukudirippu Roman Catholic school in Mullaittivu during 15 - 16 May listened to an awareness lecture on ‘Prevention from Illicit Drugs and Drug Addiction’ following arrangements made by 68 Infantry Division troops of the Security Force HQ - Mullaittivu.
The project was launched on a concept of Major General S Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc, the General Officer Commanding, 68 Infantry Division.
The informative lecture was delivered by Mr. M.M.P.B.M Rashad, National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) Coordinating Officer of Eastern province.
The lecture focused on adverse effects, illicit substances, varieties of dangerous drugs and impact of such uses and repercussions.
This programme was carried out under the supervision of Brigade Commanders of 681 and 682 Infantry Brigade and troops under 6 Gemunu Watch, 3 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, 6 and 9 Sri Lanka National Guard provided facilities to successfully conduct those lecture sessions.
Deputy Director of Education - Zonal education Office Mullaittivu, Mr. K. Waikuinarooban, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present.
