ATS New Graduates Pass Out in Ceremony

The Army Training School (ATS) at Maduruoya, successfully completed one more course on Special Infantry Operations (SIO) and awarded certificates, trophies and shields during a colourful passing-out ceremony on Friday (24).
 
A total of 11 officers and 193 other ranks, having successfully completed the Course No 53 thus passed out after receiving their merit awards in the Passing out Parade (PoP), attended by Colonel R.P.D.U Rajapaksha, Deputy Commandant, Infantry Training Center (ITC), Minneriya as the Chief Guest at the invitation of Brigadier Harendra Ranasinghe, Commandant, Army Training School, Maduruoya.
 
A Guard of Honour saluted the Chief Guest on arrival at the school premises after he was welcomed by the Commandant. The Chief Guest was afterwards invited to give away trophies, shields and merit awards to the graduates.
 
Chief Instructor, instructors and the Commandant at the ATS threw their full weight behind the successful completion of the Course and grooming those graduates who received residential training continuously.
 
Private Ruwan Kumara of 16 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (16 SLSR) was adjudged the Best Shooter while Lieutenant N.K.G.U.M  Gunerathna of 26 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) received the trophy as the Best All-Rounder of the Course. The award for the Best Section was presented to the 12 Gajaba Regiment (12 GR).
