ARTRAC Commander Makes First Official Visit to the SLMA

The Director General General Staff (DGGS) and Commander, Army Training Command (ARTRAC) and Colonel of the Regiment, Commando Regiment Major General Pradeep de Silva paid his maiden official visit to the Sri Lanka Military Academy on Saturday (08), together with some of his staff officers.

The Commandant Brigadier Krishantha Gnanaratne, the Deputy Commandant, all Wing Heads and staff of the SLMA extended a warm welcome to the delegation. Upon arrival, he laid a wreath at the Monument of Peace to pay tribute to fallen SLMA officers. The visiting DGGS first addressed all officers and officer cadets and then all NCOs serving at the SLMA at the Sino-Lanka auditorium.

He also took time off to visit classrooms, library, MI room, gymnasium, stable and other facilities at the SLMA before he joined all officers for lunch at the Officers’ Mess. The Commandant, SLMA awarded a special plaque in appreciation of his visit to the Academy. He left compliments in the visitors' book before he left the SLMA.
