Arrangements for the Year's Mega Show, 'Tharu Dilena Reyak III' in Progress


The year’s scintillating musical fiesta, ‘Tharu Dilena Reyak III’, the fund-raising musical extravaganza of the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) with a galaxy of popular vocalists and artistes, will be on the boards at Nelum Pokuna on 29th December for the express purpose of harnessing financial support for construction of 'Abimansala' wellness resorts for dependent War Heroes and their welfare.  
 
The entertainment, featuring many surprises and spectacles is organized under the aegis of Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President SVAB on behalf of the "Brave Hearts" fund-raiser of ‘Abimansala’ projects.    

Choreography for this year’s mega show too, staged for the third consecutive year is carefully designed by the veteran artist, Chandana Wickramasinghe.

The mammoth entertainment, coloured by a host of veterans in the world of music and dance will this year be designed in five segments with yesteryear classical songs, hits of 70s, current and most modern rhythmic melodies and eye-catching features, well-suited to all spectators.

Maestro Pandith Amaradeva, Pandith Sanath Nandasiri, together with Sujatha Attanayake, Anjaleen Gunetillake, Anesly Malewana, Anil Bharathi, Mariyasel Gunatillake, Eral Fernando, Sunil Perera, combatant turned singer, G. Gokulan and young artistes like Suraj Mapa, Gayesha, Chili, Manjula, Nehara Peiris, Iraj, Clifford, Ravindra, Anarkali, Roshan, Hemal, Damitha, Pubudu, Hemali, Upeksha, Akalanka, Anusha, Menaka and a few others are to colour the event.                 

Tickets for the dazzling event are available at Origins (Colombo 7), Singer Mega (Rajagiriya), Lakviru Sevana (Battaramulla), Nelum Pokuna, Army Welfare Shop (Jawatte), Army Air Travel Agency (Malay Street) and Seva Vanitha Army Branch at Army Headquarters and priced at Rs 5000, Rs 4000, Rs 3000, Rs 2000, Rs 1500 and Rs 750.
 
Indian pop icon, Asha Bhosle and the Sri Lankan duo, Bhathiya and Santhush contributed to the last year's Army organized show.   

The SVAB, instrumental in harnessing financial and material support for construction of wellness resorts at different provincial levels for mental and physical well-being of totally dependent disable War Heroes, expects to inaugurate its third ‘Abimansala-3’ construction shortly in Wayamba province.

Proceeds of this mammoth musical evening go to the construction of the third  ‘Abimansala’ in the Kurunegala district after the recent opening of the 'Abimansala-2' at Kamburupitiya.  

On an initiative of the Secretary Defence and the Commander of the Army,in keeping with Mahinda Chinthana policy statement, plans are afoot to house some three hundred permanently disable Army War Heroes in state-of-the-art wellness resorts with all necessary medical and clinical assistance on hand. The first two such centres for rest and recreation of permanently disable War Heroes in respective provinces are now in full swing both at Anuradhapura and Kamburupitiya after they were ceremonially opened by His Excellency, the President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
