Army Woman Football Players Emerge Champions

Players in the Army Women’s Football Team after beating their opponents, Air Force Women’s Football Team during the finals of the Inter-Club Women’s Football Tournament - 2011, carried away the championship securing 04 goals to 01.

The Inter-Club Women’s Football Tournament - 2011, competed by 16 women’s teams across the country commenced early in July and continued till its finals on Monday (01) at Police Park Grounds, Thimbirigasyaya.

The Army Women’s Football Team also produced the Year’s Best Goal Keeper, Year’s Woman Football Player with the highest goals and the Year’s Best Football Player during the tournament and received trophies at the end of the final encounter.

A large gathering of football fans, players from different clubs and tri-service officers witnessed the finals.
