Corporal Udeshini Niranjani of Sri Lanka Army won the woman cyclist title in the “Guwan Hamuda Papedi Sawariya 2021”, held on Sunday (7) on account of the 70th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF).
Corporal Panchali Sulochana (SLAF) and Corporal Dinesha Dilrukshi (SLAF) secured 2nd and 3rd places respectively in the women’s category. Accordingly, the award for Women was won by the Army woman cyclists’ team.
A total of 196 national level cyclists competed for the top spots in the first cycling competition, held in Sri Lanka after nearly a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Minister of Sports Hon Namal Rajapaksa flagged off the Men’s race in front of the Air Force HQ, Colombo.
The presentation ceremony was held at the Eagles’ Lagoon View Reception Hall at Katunayake and the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. Sports brands | Shop: Nike
