Sri Lanka Army Women's Basketball Team having competed in the Colombo Super League Basketball Tournament for the first time qualified as the first runner-up in the 'A' category while the Army Men's Basketball Team secured the third place under the 'B' category.
Finals were played at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on Sunday (4) before a large gathering of basketball fans and invitees. Similarly, Sri Lanka Army Women's Basketball Team during the semi-finals beat their Air Force rivals to qualify for the finals.
In the finals, Track Masters in the civil sector competed against the Army Women's Basketball Team. This was the first time, an Army Women's Team secured the runners-up slot in the 'A' Division.
Major General Athula Galagamage, Chairman, Army Basketball Committee and Lieutenant Colonel Sajith Kulasekara, Secretary, Army Basketball Committee contributed to the arrangement.
