The Graduation Ceremony of the Army War College (AWC) Buttala for the third trimester of 2024 was held on 11th January 2025 at the AWC Auditorium.
A total of 121 Officers, comprising 36 student Officers from Senior Command Course No. 12, 65 student Officers from Junior Command Course No. 31, and 20 student Officers from Junior Staff Course No. 27, successfully completed their respective courses. Brigadier T.C.M.G.S.T Cooray RWP RSP USP ndc psc, the Commandant of AWC, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The student Officers who demonstrated exceptional academic excellence and secured first, second, and third places in order of merit in each course were presented with awards and certificates by the Chief Guest.
Notably, during the graduation ceremony, Captain M.D Touhidul Islam Touhid of the Bangladesh Army, who attended Junior Command Course No. 31, was awarded a plaque as a token of appreciation for representing his country and sharing cultural and moral values with his counterparts in the Sri Lanka Army.
Towards the end of the event, the Commandant delivered the ‘Graduation Speech,’ conveying his warm congratulations to the newly graduated Officers and encouraging them to embrace future challenges in service. He also encouraged them to continue their professional development and further elevate their standards as Officers of the Army.
