The Army War College (AWC), Buttala bade farewell to the outgoing Commandant, Major General Y.A.M.B Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, in a formal ceremony on Monday (June 05) at the AWC premises.
The outgoing Commandant was customarily accorded a Guard Turnout in his honour and appreciation of his valuable service, rendered to the Army War College. Prior to relinquishment of duties, he addressed the troops where he appreciated the commitment and dedication, exhibited by the faculty staff and the administrative body of the Army War College in order to maintain its smooth function as a premier military training establishment.
Further, he recalled memories of its first-ever Symposium after the inauguration of the Army War College followed by its first-anniversary celebration. Prior to his departure, he interacted with the troops during an All-Rank tea arrangement.
Finally, in a street-line formed near the Commandant’s Chalet to the main entrance by All Ranks congratulated him as the newly-appointed General Officer Commanding of the 52 Infantry Division.
