The Sri Lanka Army Tug of War teams performed exceptionally well during the DSBMW Tug of War Championship that got underway on Saturday (July 22) at the Rajasinghe National College in Bope.
15 male, 06 female and 12 school island-wide teams vied for glory in the tournament and both male and female teams of the Army secured 1st places during the event.
Army teams were trained and encouraged for the event under the guidance of Major General R.A.J.N Ranasinghe RSP USP, General Officer Commanding, 62 Infantry Division, Brigadier P.A.M Peiris RSP USP psc, Director Sports.
Lieutenant Colonel W.A.S.M Wijayalath RSP psc IG, Commanding Officer of 15 Drone Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment supervised the teams and was also present during the awarding ceremony.
