NORTH & EAST: ARMY troops serving in the general areas of APPEIKACHCHIKULAM, PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU, PUDUMATHALAN, VELLAMULLIVAKKAL, and MULLAITTIVU recovered one hundred and twenty-four anti personnel mines, one electric mine, three hundred and fifty rounds of Multi Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG) ammunition, one pistol and one belt order on Saturday (5).
Meanwhile, Special Task Force (STF) troops recovered six hundred and ten anti personnel mines from NELUKKULAM in VAVUNIYA area the same day (5).
In the meantime, six anti personnel mines, one thousand one hundred and eight rounds of T-56 ammunition, 4 ft of detonator cords, eleven 60 mm mortar bombs, four hand grenades, three T-56 weapons, four T-56 magazines were recovered by the STF troops from KAMBIARU in AMPARA and KARADIYANARU in BATTICALOA.
