More than 200 Army personnel of the 11 Division Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-Cen) actively participated in the state ceremony, held at Sri Dalada Maligawa premises on Saturday (23) where the proposal to declare ‘Thripitaka’ a World Heritage was officially delivered by HE the President Maithripala Sirisena to the UN Resident Coordinator in Sri Lanka, Ms Hanaa Singer in the presence of Malwatta - Asgiriya Mahanayake Theros, Religious dignitaries of major faiths, Buddhist monks, Prime Minister, Ministers and a huge gathering of distinguished invitees.
11 Division troops considering the national importance and the phenomenal value of the project offered ‘Gilanpasa’ (refreshments) to over 4000 Buddhist monks who assembled at the Sri Dalada Maligawa premises to attend the ceremony.
