Army Troops Douse Bush Fires Around Foot of Hantana Hill

More than 20 Army personnel of the 2 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) of the 11 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) hurried Saturday (20) night and doused a fire that erupted around the foot at the Hantana Hill in the general area of Hantana, Kandy.

Troops in the area were alerted to the fast spreading bush fire by civilians, prompting the soldiers of the 2 (V) SLSR to rush to the scene.

By 7.45 pm at night, the troops completely brought the fast spreading fire under control with the support of some civilians who came to the location.

However, no damage to the civil property or any person was reported.
