11 Division Headquarters in Kandy on the eve of the commencement of the annual Kandy ‘Sri Dalada Perahera’ festival conducted a series of Shramadana campaigns against the spread of Dengue under the theme ‘Environment is sacred’.
Troops of the 142 Brigade, 143 Brigade, 122 Brigade, 121 Brigade and 112 Brigade under 11, 14 and 12 Division Headquarters joined hands together with people to conduct Dengue eradication programmes.
11 Division troops in close coordination with Public Health Inspectors and other state officials conducted the Kandy programme for 2 days.
Elsewhere in Gannoruwa (East), Sooriyawewa, Mawaramandiya, Godagama, Gangodavila, Kaluaggala, Bogamuwa, Nagollagama, Yatinuwara, Dehiwala, Mount Lavinia, Biyagama, Homagama, Kotte, Godagama, Kawudana and many other areas, troops offered their assistance for the same project.
