A three-day display of relics was conducted at Tissamaharama Raja Maha Viharaya together with relics of 14 disciples of the Buddha during Poson.
Troops in the 122 Brigade serving the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) under the guidance of Major General A.P De Z Wickramarathne, Commander, Security Forces- Central (SF-C) provided assistance to make it success.
On Friday (17) evening, relics were carried in a colourful vehicle procession with the Army escorts to the Yatalathissa Rajamaha Viharaya and Thissamaharama Rajamaha Viharaya afterwards.
A total of 22 Army personnel in white clothes respected the occasion by providing umbrellas to bhikkhus and provided security to the relics and the procession.
Furthermore, 122 Brigade provided one officer and 15 other ranks to provide more assistance to the organizers to prepare meals for the 3-day ‘Dansela’.
