Army Training Expertise Given to 1139 Undergraduate Teachers

The Sri Lanka Army training experts on ‘Leadership’ and ‘Positive Approaches and Attitudes’ in response to a request of the Department of Education in the North Eastern Province under the guidance given by the Commander of the Army conducted five-day long residential training programmes for newly-recruited 1139 graduate teachers at five respective Army Training establishments during 20 - 26 September.

Those teachers recruited on district basis from the North and Eastern Provinces as Grade 3 teachers of the teaching service under 1 (a) category accordingly underwent training in ‘Improvement of Leadership Qualities’, ‘Social Discipline’, ‘Skill Development’, ‘Mental Development Against Challenges’ and ‘Physical Fitness’, etc. They also learnt about theoretical and practical aspects, connected to those disciplines.

On the directions of the Directorate of Army Training, the Infantry Training Centre at Minneriya (120), Artillery Training School (215), Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (410), Regimental Centre Gajaba Regiment (259) and Armoured Corps Training Centre Kaleththewa (135) accommodated those undergraduate teachers during the training period.
