Army swimmers competing in the National Short Course Swimming Championship - 2022, held at Colombo Isipathana College swimming pool during 26-30 December secured 7 Gold medals, 12 Silver medals and 3 Bronze medals plus the Runner-up trophy (men’s group) having swim against 378 swimmers of 49 school and sports clubs in the country.
Likewise, Second Lieutenant H.D.A Peiris - Gajaba Regiment was adjudged the Best Swimmer in the Men’s category.
Major General Nishantha Manage, Chairman, Army Aquatic Sports Committee provided guidance and necessary support to participating swimmers.
