In response to an invitation of the Vice President - Sri Lanka Badminton and Chairman, Coaching & Promotion Committee Mr Deepal Madurapperuma, Major General Harendra Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi supported the launch of a training programme to groom new badminton coaches in for five districts in the Northern Province.
The training session was launched at the Sports Stadium in Kilinochchi during 6 - 7 April with 40 participants participating as coaches for both badminton and physical training. Kilinochchi Commander was invited to join the inauguration as the Chief Guest.
It has been organized in collaboration with the Northern Province Badminton Association in order to elevate the standards of badminton players in the province since Army troops have the skills to train them to achieve better results.
President, Northern Province Badminton Association, Rev.
