Army Squash Team dominated 11thDefence Services Squash Tournament winning Men’s Open, championship and runners-up slots in over 35, over 50, runners-up slot in over 45 and novice categories in the tournament.
In essence, all individual events except the over 50 veterans category, were won by Army players. In addition, the Army team emerged the runners-up in the Team Event too.
The tournament was organized by Sri Lanka Navy from 09 March to 13 Mar 2021 at Sri Lanka Air Force Squash Courts at Ratmalana.
The presentation ceremony was held at Sri Lanka Air Force Squash Courts at Ratmalana and finals in Men’s Open event became the showcase during the ceremony. Lance Corporal R.M.S.L.K Ekanayake of Sri Lanka Army won the Open Championship at the 11th Defence Services Squash Tournament defeating his Air Force counterpart after an enthralling match. Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy Rear Admiral S.A Weerasinghe graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest.
Team Manager, Colonel D.K.R.N Silva, Assistant Team Manager Head Coach, Mr Gihan Suwaris also participated in the awarding event.
