Army shooters, winning three out of four events in the 23rd National Handgun Championships of the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) of Sri Lanka, organized by National Rifle Association of Sri Lanka, carried away the Championship Trophy on Monday (16).
By wining 3 shooting events from all 4 events against 160 shooters from 12 Clubs in this five day-long (Dec 13 - 16) Championship Tournament at the Navy Firing Range in Welisara, the Army shooters made a record since the victory came after an absence of three years in the standard category.
Corporal T.A.O.C.K. Abeywardana emerged the Men’s National Championship in the same category.
Corporal M.J. Padmasiri recorded victory in Men’s National Championship production category.
After 20 years, Army Woman Shooters secured the Championship in women’s Open National Shooting tournament under the same arrangement.
In all 8 competitions, the Army shooters secured all three first places.
